frequently asked questions

Here at Valley Carpet Care, we get asked the same questions by our customers over and over again… So we want to save you some time! Here are our most frequently asked questions we have received

Carpet Cleaning

Most manufacturers recommend that carpets are professionally cleaned by a qualified technician every 12-18 months. Carpets should be cleaned on a regular basis and before they become heavily soiled. Allowing soil to build up will significantly reduce the life of a carpet.
Drying time depends on many conditions, including how soiled the item was, weather conditions, indoor atmosphere, etc. However, in most normal cases, carpets and soft furnishings should be dry within 2-8 hours. If drying is a concern mention it to us, they will be able to advise on drying times and, if required, use some specialist techniques to speed up the process. Please note that there is usually an extra charge for this service.
We will always vacuum before cleaning the carpet although if you can vacuum yourself then it will help.
We Always Recommend Steam Cleaning, as The Steam Cleaning gets Best Results and also Kills All Bacteria. It’s More Efficient, Better for Allergy Sufferers. We use Shampoo, Carpet Deodoriser & Spot Treatment.
This only happens if there is too much residue (chemical) left within the carpet.
Some carpet cleaning companies will use chemical in there water (not pre spraying) as they clean your carpet and upholstery and this can result in leaving unwanted residue covering your carpet and upholstery that will hinder drying times and also help your carpet and upholstery soil faster.
Valley Carpet Care always Pre Sprays, Rest assured that we only use the correct cleaning system and application methods for each carpet, which means that they stay clean for longer.
No, not at all. Hot water extraction is the preferred method of Valley Carpet Cleaning and of many other major carpet manufacturers. It is generally considered the best method of removing embedded dirt and other contaminants.
No guarantee can be made that any particular stain will be removed. Some stains permanently damage the carpet fibres and no amount of specialist cleaning will reverse this. Valley Carpet Care have received advanced training for spot and stain removal and will be able to deal with most problems. If you have a stain you are concerned about, discuss it with us beforehand and we will be happy to advise.
Health and safety is of paramount importance in the cleaning industry. Professional cleaning solutions are tested for their effects on the environment and occupants of areas in which they will be used. Valley Carpet Care's members will also ensure that the relevant safety procedures are followed during the cleaning process. It is highly recommended that children and pets stay off of a damp carpet until it is completely dry, this will help prevent slip and fall hazards as well as tracking in fresh soil.

Tile and Grout

Just like carpet, dirt, oils, & soil build up over time dulling your tile’s appearance and discoloring your grout. A thorough, professional tile & grout cleaning is the only way to remove the deep-down dirt.

To achieve maximum cleaning results requires a combination of the right tools and equipment, chemicals and professional cleaning products, heat (very hot water) and most of all knowledge of what needs to be used and how in any given situation.

Different jobs require different cleaning methods. Therefore sometimes there is no other way than to apply good old hand scrubbing power.

All Valley Carpet Care are fully trained and clean tile and grout for a living and we know our stuff!

As with carpet, many factors must be considered when determining the frequency of cleaning. Foot traffic, children, pets, and routine floor maintenance will affect how often you need to have your tile & grout cleaned. Most of our clients usually professionally clean their hard surface flooring every 2-5 years.
Most of the time we are able get the grout back to its original condition. However results depend on how long it has been dirty for, type of situation, how long since it was last sealed (if ever!) and the type of grout.

For an average size room (up to 300 square feet), it typically takes 30–60 minutes to clean the tile & grout. This can vary based on a number of factors including the size of the tile, amount of soil in the grout lines, and room configuration. If you choose to have sealant added, it typically takes 2–3 hours to complete the entire process.
